Panel Master Service

The RM Thorstensen was repowered with a new EMD engine. The WABCO Panel Master control system needed to be serviced and updated. We added new air filtration and Barksdale pressure switches for clutch indication. New lines where run to the clutches.

The EMD engine needed a 4-20mA throttle signal. We added a pressure sensor, and curve converter.

We service the WABCO air controls on large 2 stroke engines from Sulzer and MAN B&W.

Bridge between electronic and pneumatic

The AVENTICS air clutch panel provides the interface between the electronic propulsion controls and air clutches.

The clutch fill is controled by an electronic pressure profile, this is the fastest and most precise way to fill a clutch. On a twin engine system, both clutches will shift at the exact same time, every time. The typical time to full lockup is 2.2 sec.

The panel includes two pressure switches for cross-engagement interlock and throttle boost.
