USCGC Polar Star Oil Distribution Shaft

The Oil distibution shaft connects the rotating oil tube ports with the outside control hydraulic. If the gap between the white metal seal rings and shaft gets to big, oil starts to flow into the feedback circuit.

We cleaned the surfaces and tested for tolerances. New babbitted high preasure seal rings where installed. The low pressure sealing areas had to be reconditioned to be within tolerance.

Type 378 USCGC Munro

Actuating cross head of the Escher Wyss propeller hub. The cross head transmits the linear actuation of the hydraulic piston to a rotational motion of the propeller blades via the link, crank ring and trunnion. The blades are bolted to the trunnion.

The propeller hubs were repaired in our facility returning them to OEM tolerances and clearances and returned to service ahead of schedule.
